Often imitated but never replicated. The Nissan Qashqai is more than just a crossover it is THE crossover. A vehicle that has well and truly redefined the motor industry is now preparing to release its 3rd Gen iteration.

The 3rd generation Qashqai is slightly larger than its predecessor with a sharper design. This results in sleeker body lines without detracting too far from previous designs to the point of being unrecognisable. While the body might be slightly larger without being bulky, the vehicle also comes with a comprehensive parking assist system to help manoeuvre into tight parking spaces.

While there will be no diesel derivative at launch, the 1.3T petrol engine offers *138bHp in the entry-level manual FWD spec. The higher spec CVT models offer *156bHp. The CVT models come in both FWD and 4WD.

Perhaps the most exciting aspect of the new Qashqai is its drive thanks to Nissan’s meticulous attention to detail with suspensions and drive trains. The suspension doesn’t shudder, the body provides solid reassuring stability, and the seats and steering wheel are mounted together with wobble-free integrity. All of which gives it a premium quality that even some of the ‘premium’ crossovers can’t match.

With the launch of the 3rd Gen Qashqai earmarked for Q4 2022, it won’t be long before you can get behind the wheel of the market leader crossover.
